Women’s Training for Economic Impact
On November 30, 2018, the International Unit for the Strengthening and Promotion of Haitian Institutions (UNIRPIH) organized a training session in the municipality of Delmas, Port-au-Prince, specifically for women leaders, under the theme:
“Women’s Economic Transformation and Stability – Empower Women.”
Objectives of the Training
This initiative aimed to:

Strengthen the economic capacities of women facing vulnerability or exclusion.

Promote women’s autonomy through entrepreneurship, local innovation, and access to resources.

Raise awareness among women leaders about their central role in the economic and social stability of their communities.
Content and Approach
The training brought together around fifty participants, including community leaders, entrepreneurs, representatives of local organizations, and young professionals.
The sessions covered the following modules:

Microenterprise management and access to solidarity financing.

Women’s leadership and decision-making.
-
Economic resilience in the face of social and climate challenges.
-
Advocacy techniques for women’s economic rights.
Impact and Commitments
At the end of the training:

Several participants identified economic transformation projects to be implemented in their communities.

Local women’s networks were strengthened, fostering solidarity, mutual support, and the exchange of best practices.

UNIRPIH reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women in their leadership and economic development journeys.
