UNIRPIH Honors Mrs. Eugénia August
On May 31, 2019, the International Unit for the Strengthening and Promotion of Haitian Institutions (UNIRPIH) had the honor of presenting a plaque of recognition to Mrs. Eugénia August, a former Canadian Member of Parliament of Haitian descent, during a solemn ceremony held at the Consulate General of Haiti in New York.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Gandhi Thomas, Ambassador of Haiti, as well as several prominent members of the Haitian diaspora, representatives of local and international institutions, and advocates for women’s leadership.
An Inspiring Journey Honored
Mrs. Eugénia August stands as a remarkable figure within the Haitian diaspora. A former member of the Canadian Parliament and tireless advocate for inclusion, social justice, and women’s empowerment, she has upheld the values of courage, responsibility, and Haitian dignity far beyond borders.
