Signing of a Partnership Protocol to Strengthen Institutional Cooperation
On June 20, 2019, the International Unit for the Strengthening and Promotion of Haitian Institutions (UNIRPIH) held an official meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Gandhi Thomas in Manhattan, New York, as part of the development of its 2019–2022 strategic action plan.
This high-level meeting brought together members of the Haitian diaspora, representatives of partner institutions, and key stakeholders involved in sustainable development and institutional capacity-building in Haiti.
Presentation of UNIRPIH’s Strategic Vision
During the meeting, UNIRPIH leaders presented:

Their vision for modernizing local Haitian institutions.

A detailed action plan focused on territorial development, women’s empowerment, youth inclusion, and participatory governance.

Key areas of cooperation with the public and private sectors, as well as the Haitian diaspora.
Signing of a Collaboration Protocol
The highlight of the meeting was the official signing of a memorandum of understanding between UNIRPIH and several partner organizations, in the presence of Ambassador Gandhi Thomas.
This protocol aims to:

Structure the collaboration between UNIRPIH and other local or international institutions.

Strengthen joint projects related to governance, training, and economic and social development.

Promote sustainable coordination between diaspora-led initiatives and Haiti’s institutional needs.

Ambassador Gandhi Thomas praised the initiative with the following words:
