Training with Haitian Officials in Florida
From June 5 to 8, 2018, the International Unit for the Strengthening and Promotion of Haitian Institutions (UNIRPIH) organized a strategic training session in collaboration with several representatives from Haitian local governments in Miami–Fort Lauderdale, USA.
This training focused on three major themes essential for the future of Haitian territories:
1. Sustainable Development
Discussions on environmentally friendly development approaches, promoting inclusion and local economic self-reliance.
2. Climate Change
Analysis of the impact of climate change on local Haitian communities, with the sharing of sustainable and community-based adaptation solutions.
3. Good Governance
Capacity-building around transparency, accountability, citizen participation, and active engagement of the Haitian diaspora.
Training Objectives
This initiative aligns with UNIRPIH’s core mission: to strengthen Haitian institutions through local capacity development, skills transfer, and international cooperation.
The training also served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between local authorities and members of the diaspora.
